Asian Movies All Over the Map
...One of the festival’s real finds is the South Korean film “Breathless,” a closely observed drama written, produced and co-directed by its star, the vividly talented Yang Ik-june. An enforcer for small-time loan sharks, Mr. Yang’s character, Sang-hoon, has found a professional outlet for his violent nature, though he’s hardly a becalmed spirit. He goes through life cursing and clobbering his co-workers and family until he encounters a high school girl even more foulmouthed than he is. Without editorializing, “Breathless” suggests that while South Korea may have moved beyond a militaristic, authoritarian culture, residue of the dark era — in the form of an interpersonal network of brutality and victimization — survives...

기자 아저씨가 제대로 보셨다.
군국주의, 권위주의에서 벗어났다고 생각하지만 사실 그 시대의 잔여는 아직도 버젓이 한국 사회에 남아있는거다.. 도대체 언제쯤 그 찌끄러기가 사라질지... 안타깝다.
들려온 음악의 멜로디가 하림씨 곡이랑 너무 비슷했다.
계속 머리 속에서 맴돌아 잊혀지지 않길래 집에 와서 찾아 들었다.
참 오랜만에 듣는건데 여전히 좋다..
그리고 여전히 슬프다..

지난 번 유럽에 갔을 때 나는 내 의지와는 상관없이 하루 왠종일 Daniel Powter의 Bad Day를 들으며 지냈다. 라디오 틀면 나오고, 상점 들어가면 나오고... 캐나다에 돌아와서도 정말 질리도록 들었다;_; 덕분에 그 노래를 들으면 처음 갔던 유럽 여행 (정확히 말하자면 룩셈부르크에 사는 친구 방문이었음;;) 생각이 난다. 뭐랄까, 그 노래가 그 때 기억들을 상기시는 trigger 역할을 한다고 할까?
요번 여행의 추억들을 떠올리게 해줄 음악적 trigger는 아마 베를린이 아닐까 싶다. 베를린은 파리 있을 동안 거의 매일 들었던, 아침에 일어나서 음악 채널 틀면 항상 나오곤 했던, 노래다. 처음에는 '이건 도대체 뭐..냐....ㅡ _ㅡ' 싶었는데 자꾸 들으니까 괜찮은거다. 가사는 뭐라는지 전혀 모르겠지만 (디스코 한 단어 알아들었음;;) 비트랑 멜로디가 중독성이 있는거다. 백그라운드에서 전자음처럼 뚜뚜뚜 뚜뚜 뚜뚜 거리는 소리랑 부~우웅 뱃고동 소리(?) 특히나 그렇다. ㅋㅋㅋ
가수는 프랑스 버젼의 Pop Idol인 Nouvelle Star이란 리얼리티 쇼 4번째 시즌 우승자. 별명은 거북이 "La Tortue" 우히힉.수잔나가 하는 말이 "he was soooo good, everybody knew from the beginning he was going to win." 노래 참 잘한다. 결정적으로 목소리가 참 놀라웁다. 이 가수가 부르는 발라드 노래를 들었을 때, 그 누구도 이게 남자 목소리라고 생각 못할거다. 못 믿겠다면 아래 비됴 클릭 플레이.
